It has been a long while since I have posted and I have to do a better job about getting around to this stuff sooner to keep you all informed about what is going on in the Miracle Mile world!

First of all… Mother’s Day is coming up very soon.  We will be open on Sunday, May 12th for Mother’s Day Lunch, starting at 11am at BOTH Miracle Mile locations.  We will have our normal menu, no set menu, no crazy Mother’s Day prices…. just the usual, awesome Miracle Mile quality that everyone loves!  Miracle Mile is truly the perfect Mother’s Day destination for the entire family!  No reservations are required or any special arrangements need to be made beforehand….. If you are looking for something fun to do on Friday Nights during the next few weeks, be sure to check out the “Music On the Promenade” Concert Series that just began.  Every Friday from 7pm-9pm (through May 24th), at the Scottsdale Promenade Ampitheatre, FREE LIVE MUSIC will be playing, by some of the Valley’s best local artists.  Be sure to stop by Miracle Mile at the Scottsdale Promenade for dinner before the show…. or if you are running a bit late, call in your order and we will have it ready for you to take out and you can take it with you to the concert and enjoy a great meal while listening to some great music in a relaxing atmosphere!  The Promenade hosts will also be raffling off a Miracle Mile gift card at the weekly concert… so be sure to sign up at the host table for your chance to win a great gift card!

I am VERY pleased to announce that the NEW MIRACLE MILE MENU HAS  FINALLY ARRIVED!  Beginning today, we have 11 NEW MENU ITEMS…              New Sandwiches, New Salads, New Healthy Options & New Burgers!  This is pretty much the first time in a long time that we have made these changes to our famous Miracle Mile Menu…. but I thought we were do!

The New Sandwiches include the Turkacado, TurkeyCran, Classic BLT, Bronx Chicken Sandwich, and The Times Square Cheesesteak (yeah say that 3 times really fast without saying “cheesecake”)! Times Square Cheesesteak, Times Square Cheesesteak, Times Square Cheesecake…. Damn!  Okay… onto the salads!

The New Salads include The Staten Island Salad, The SoHo Salad, and the Straight Up Chicken Caesar Salad! 

The New Burgers include the Broadway Burger, The Empire State Burger, and the Ellis Island Burger!

Although I am not going to go into detail on all of these items because I honestly want you to explore the site for yourself and find them and salivate over the descriptions, I can honestly say that I am very proud of the new items and have a lot of confidence in saying that I think that they all bring a new value to our menu and I am very excited for you all to try them.  Approximately 80% of our customers already know what they are going to order for lunch or dinner before walking into our establishments because they have been going to Miracle Mile for most of their childhood and adult lives… However I think these new menu items will hopefully develop into new favorites for both new and longtime customers!

By frequent customer request and after several product tests, we found a consistent avocado that is fresh and that will accompany our sandwiches and salads nicely!  Although this product is often expensive and difficult to maintain, we have been working diligently with our produce suppliers to find a great avocado that we will be proud to serve consistently…because Miracle Mile is built on consistently and we NEVER want to disappoint our customers… EVER!! A very exciting and tasty addition to our menu for sure!

Several of our new menu items include other items that we have had on our Miracle Mile Menu for several years.  However we have been working on mixing some items together and making the most of the quality that we serve on a daily basis!  Several minds have been working on this menu for some time now and we are very happy that the time has come to be able to share with you all. I would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Albert Stolarski and his “handy helper”, Mr. Jacinto, at Albert’s Signworks Inc. for all of their help with creating the new menu boards and putting up with our crazy Miracle Mile Family.  Albert has been working our family since 1996 and does amazing work with signs and other incredible pieces that any home or restaurant may need.  I would highly recommend him if you are in the need for any signage for any occasion.  And Thank You Mom & Dad for staying late and helping Albert & Jacinto late into the night!

I would also like to thank my management staff…. Troy, Roger, Rafael, Miguel, and Daly, for all of their patience and help with creating, perfecting and executing these new menu items for our customers! We are ready to play and share these exciting things with our customers thanks to you all!

We haven’t done a lot of advertising these new items yet… but I would like to thank the “Power of Social Media” for helping us get the word out and allowing our customers to share their thoughts with us on Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Instagram & YouTube! You are all amazing people and we truly appreciate your feedback and sharing your MMD experiences with others.

Finally, I would like to once again thank my family.  Desi, Sophie and Jack… I work hard every day for you all.  You are my inspiration and my restaurant obsession and constant seeking for greatness is to make you proud! The foundation for a better Miracle Mile starts today and hopefully things only get better from this point forward!  Thank you for always supporting me and being there for me when I need you most.  Your love, hugs, kisses and laughs are the reason I love living every day.

Okay… I think I am done with all of my cheesiness for now. Meh!!!

We sold a load of desserts too!  Apparently Corned Beef & Cabbage must make people have a sweet tooth of some sort!  We also sold over 50 slices of our Homemade Bread Pudding, 4 Whole Lemon Meringue Pies, 3 Whole Apple Pies, 2 Whole Cherry Pies,  3 Whole Chocolate Fudge Cakes, 3 Whole Carrot Cakes and 4 Whole New York Style Cheesecakes!  We couldn’t keep up with the amount of volume of desserts, so we allocated one employee to just cut fresh desserts all day and all night long!  It was awesome to say the least!  Miracle Mile served over 5,000 people last weekend!  Doesn’t sound like much but that is ALOT of people going through our establishments and truly appreciate every single one of you!

Thank you again for making another St. Patrick’s Day fun for us and we look forward to doing it all over again next year!  Much love to you all!

I always look forward to sharing these incredible numbers with you all and hope you enjoy hearing about them. I know it sounds sort of weird, and I am sure hard to believe at times…It’s ALOT of Beef!  Thank you to you all and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Typically I don’t like to mix family and business, but truly this is my only platform to which I can inform you all directly and hopefully get some positive feedback from those who care. It’s been a frustrating couple of months for our family. We had a rough holiday season with our daughter Sophie.  Sophie is 3 years old and was diagnosed with “neophobia” (a food phobia or a food aversion).  She does eat much of anything besides dry ramen noodles and baby formula and is literally falling off the growth chart for a kid her age.  Since birth, Sophie was a finicky baby…she wouldn’t take a whole bottle in one sitting, was constantly up all night long requiring constant feedings, and never truly seemed satisfied with the entire process of eating or drinking.  We thought she would out grow it seeing that most kids are just “picky” eaters that enjoy a few foods but will still eat like a normal kid.  Being in our family with 2 restaurants, the ONE THING every child in our family should be able to do is eat! Over time, Sophie’s anxiety around food has gotten stronger and stronger, with her “cravings” being less and more foods leaving her diet.

The beginning of December, Sophie was admitted into the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Intensive Feeding Therapy Program (a program that we had waited 6 months to get into) and she lasted 2 weeks before the doctors and therapists agreed that Sophie’s problem was beyond anything that they could help her with and suggested that we begin to start researching out of state treatment options. At the end of December, Sophie got a terrible stomach virus and didn’t eat for 6 days (by her choice of course… we aren’t terrible parents that were starving our child…please don’t report us to CPS).  We were admitted into Phoenix Children’s Hospital for 3 days, where Sophie received IV fluids for dehydration and antibiotics to help with her ability to recover from this virus more quickly. Since being released, Sophie hasn’t eaten any of her old favorite foods (i.e. cheese its, goldfish, lay’s potato chips etc.)  All of her foods that she did eat were of a salty, crunchy and dry texture.    Now, other than ramen noodles or formula, she isn’t even trying any of the other stuff.

This whole process has been very frustrating for our family, as we have tried so many different therapy programs, doctors, foods etc., and nothing has helped our poor little girl.  By looking at her, she looks like a normal, happy kid with a love for life and people.  She is an incredible little girl and we are so grateful that we have that much going for us.  My wife has been an amazing person through this whole process…going to EVERY doctor’s appointment and being Sophie’s ROCK every step of the way.  I know it has been very frustrating for Desi especially because of the time, energy, effort and stress that she has to go through daily  in attempt to try to get Sophie to eat anything.  Our family has been so supportive and there for all of us every step of the way and I am thankful everyday that they have been there to help us and be there when we need them most.

I know this blog has NOTHING to do with Miracle Mile and indirectly it has something to do with food.  I want everyone to be thankful for happy and healthy children and family members too.  Sophie will hopefully be getting a G-tube soon that will help her receive the caloric intake that is necessary for her to thrive, until she is able to eat on her own and finds a love for food.  We are very much looking forward to that day that her tummy is full and she can be a “normal” kid.  Sophie has amazing energy and everyone that she has the opportunity to meet immediately falls in love with her.  I am thankful for Sophie, Desi and Jack for teaching me about the importance of family, patience and acceptance.  I am not a patient person by any means and this entire process has taught me alot about the importance of patience, being there for each other when they need it most, and accepting the fact that there is alot you have no control over in life ( Yes, I am a control freak…surprise surprise), and you have to “roll with the punches” sometimes until you reach your goal.  I am looking forward to the next few months and seeing how Sophie will respond to the upcoming events that will affect all of us.

I will try to keep you posted on our future endeavors on this topic as it is important to me and my family.  Thank you for reading and allowing me to share some of my life with you.
